DEATH RATE INCREASES IN UNIVERSITIES
Death rate has increased in universities due to toxic relationships.Toxic relationship is any relationship where you are being emotionally or physically damaged by other people.
When a 20 year old boy from Matili Technical Training Institute was recently reported to have committed suicide over love gone sour,he reminds us of all numerous reports about young people commiting suicide in Universities
Before the Matili Technical Training Institute incident, there was Moi University student who was stabbed in a love triangle .That was followed by assortment of stories about romance and deaths across campuses in the country
Here are some reasons why most campus students stay in toxic love
Fear
A student who have stayed in abusive relationship for a little too long begin to have erosion in there self esteem.Finding love again feels impossible for them to have been through toxic relationships and finding through love feels like a huge tax and therefore rather than leave and stay alone, these students would prefer to stay and have some love and they end up feeling that relationships are actually norm
Confusing destruction with passion
There is an argument that students in Universities are emotionally volatile so what happens is that there are relationships where there are too many extreme and the people in relationships become addicted to those norms
External pressure
This could be social, religious,or even situational .For example a girl who has already had a child with a partner mighty feel tied to this partner even if they display abusive qualities .Some people might also feel pressured by their friends to remain in a relationship because they believe partner will change
*When studying at university,it is important to be extra vigilant regarding toxic relationships because you are often fairly distanced from your friends and family back home. This could make it easier for a toxic person to isolate you from loved ones and take control
